Bringing Joy to Cuban Children

I’ve lost track of how many years we have been entertaining the kids in Cuba with balloons, face painting, magic and music but I’m guessing around 15 years.

Looking back over old photos I was thinking about January this year when the taxi was a couple of miles away from the school in Boca De Sansa when the the driver stopped. A mum and kids with huge smiles jumped in the back of the taxi giving me lots of hugs and kisses.

Their eyes were sparkling with excitement. As the taxi went down the hill into the village you could hear all the kids scream with excitement that we had almost arrived.

There was so much laughter every where. The mum’s love to have their legs painted and necklaces painted on them. The kids never get this kind of entertainment so they look forward to us coming every year and afterwards we usually go outside for photos and the kids sing to us.

Most years we have other clowns that want to join in the fun. There were six clowns one year and one time Annette who is a graphic artist from Germany helped me face paint.

I'll never forget the look on her face when she was swarmed with kids. She yelled over to me "what do I do next?" lol

Nothing can be as rewarding as spreading joy to the beautiful young children in Cuba.

They so little but give alot back and are so grateful.
